training
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (500 RYT) of Hatha Yoga in the Himalayan Tradition, with Level 1 Yoga Therapy training. My training was with Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute in Duluth, Minnesota under the mentorship of Ann Maxwell, Molly McManus, and Deborah Adele. There are several styles of yoga coming from various parts of the yoga tree and I believe each person will be drawn to particular styles or combinations of exercise depending on their body needs.
I am trained in SomaYoga, a personal alignment hatha style yoga, which focuses on yoga mat practices but is only one part of a yoga lifestyle. I am not currently teaching but my classes are generally offered in a series for developing sustained integrated well-being of body, mind, and spirit. The key part of a soma class is the development and reawakening of awareness in the soma - the body being. I am particularly interested in how pandiculations, not poses per se, are the keys to safely increasing range of motion.
